Customer access (electronic services) will then be set up. Drivers may use the facility at their convenience 24/7 and each wash is registered to a customer account number (payment is made monthly; no on-site payment is required).

The washing station is well-suited for companies with large vehicle fleets and multiple drivers, as each vehicle can be issued its own access card. An electronic receipt is available upon completion of the wash.

Truck and Heavy Vehicle Wash Station

The Samskip vehicle wash station is located at the Samskip port area at Kjalarvogur 7–15. It is a specially designed and fully equipped automatic wash station for large vehicles, including buses, trucks, lorries, and trailers. This powerful and high-capacity facility is the only one of its kind in the country and provides an ideal solution for commercial vehicles that require regular and efficient washing.

Drivers operate the wash via a touchscreen, where they can choose from a variety of options, including wash type and detergent levels. The wash station is fully automated and recycles wastewater using heat recovery systems from operations, while utilizing specially formulated cleaning agents designed for vehicle wash facilities that are more environmentally friendly. This ensures effective cleaning without harming the environment, and any excess water is collected in a recycling tank.

Open 24/7
The station is open 24 hours a day, year-round, for drivers, companies, and individuals, both within and outside Samskip, allowing the facility to be used whenever it best suits the customer.
